With my warm and interactive style, I offer a nonjudgmental and safe setting where clients can feel comfortable sharing feelings and frustrations. My emphasis is on helping clients to make concrete, positive changes in their day-to-day lives. This happens by gaining deeper self-knowledge and altering patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are standing in the way of greater personal fulfillment.

When I help clients review their past my goal is to help them understand how it is affecting them today. Moving at a pace that is comfortable for each person, I help clients identify major issues that are holding them back, and ultimately to make real, tangible progress.

I use a range of approaches, including cognitive behavior therapy and object relations. Cognitive behavior therapy looks at how someone’s thought process affects their feelings and actions. Object relations examines clients’ current relationships with others, and how they may have been shaped by past emotional attachments.

You may be carrying tension in your body, such as in your shoulders, back or jaw. Or maybe your stomach hurts when you talk about your stressful relationship. I will help you become more in touch with these feelings, and we will look at ways for you to find relief. This may involve practicing deep breathing and other relaxation techniques.

I provide individual, couple, and family therapy.
